21st Sunday in Ordinary Time August 25

Bible Study
We are starting our Great Adventure Bible study. It will be
on Thursdays, 1pm to 3 pm and 7 pm to 9pm. It has 24
classes which will be spread out over the year finishing in
May. It will average about 3 times a month. It covers the
whole story of the Bible in depth.

BBQ Volunteers
We will have a board out at Church this weekend where
you can sign up for your time slot helping out. This year
you can sign up for particular jobs. Last year some people
got left out. This way you know exactly what job you will
be helping with.

Competitive
I am the kind of competitor that does not need to win, but
I need to be able to have small victories. For example,
basketball. You might be losing big, but you can always
score some points. If I lose the game I do not mind as long
as I made a couple of good shots. Basketball is also a game
where you can even out the teams, so it does not matter how
good you are if the teams are even. I enjoy having fun
more the being competitive. I would rather have a relaxed
game then have an intense game.
The same with competitive video games. I enjoy
games where I can have small victories. The other guy
might have killed me 3 times in a row, but as long as I get
one good shot in then I am happy. I enjoy games where
the underdog gets lucky every once in a while. Once I got
lucky and swiped out the whole other team in Destiny. That
one lucky strike made me happy the whole week.
I hate chess because it’s win or lose and you never
get lucky. The better player always wins. I want some
random fun in my games.
